New Nazca lines have been discovered in the Middle East and these geolyphs of Middle East are more numerous than that of the Peru’s, cover a far more extensive area and are older as well. Preliminary researches predict that these lines date back from way past 2000 years ago. The recent aerial photography program conducted in Jordan helped researchers in discovering these new lines and later those were specifically identified with latest satellite-mapping technologies.
David Kennedy, University of Western Australia’s classics and ancient history professor leads this researcher team and his paper will soon be published in the Archaeological Science Journal. He stated that these new structures display pendants, kites, mysterious or unknown shapes and walls. The research team is still not sure about the significance of some of the structures and those meander across the landscape for more than a few hundred feet.
Kennedy, though originally an expert of Roman archeology, was always fascinated with the Nazca lines and his new discovery will definitely bring up many new questions regarding these mysterious lines.
