Actress and author Soleil Moon Frye has recently told Parade.com in an interview that the biggest crush of her life was actor Mark Wahlberg, which she dated in the early 90s. Now, two decades after the relationship ended, she still remembers him with nostalgia.
Actress, director, screenwriter and book author Soleil Moon Frye has recently released a book on motherhood, which she promotes in the media as being totally different from the ones women can already find on the shelves of the bookstores. With this occasion, the website Parade.com talked to her about other subjects (aside from the way she thinks is best to raise children and from her experiences with her two daughters, Poet who is 6, and Jagger, who is 3). Soleil Moon Frye talked about her debut in acting as Penelope Punky Brewster ( for those born in the 90s, it was a character similar to iCarly or Hanna Montana) and about an old flame of hers, well known actor Mark Wahlberg.
Frye and Wahlberg dated briefly in the early 90s, after she had broken up with “Terminator” actor Edward Furlong. At that time, Wahlberg was taking his pants off for Calvin Klein and was known for being a bad guy. Known under the name Marky Mark, the actor was then a rap star. Frye, who at the time was still in her late teenage years, fell for the shirtless rapper and she till remembers how that felt like:
“I had a mad, crazy crush on him -- the biggest crush of my life!” she tells Parade.com. “He was great and such a nice guy. Yes, it was totally crazy love. Who wasn't crazy about him?” she continues and adds that she recently saw him. “I just saw him this morning doing a satellite media tour and I was doing mine, and I was like, 'Oh, that Boston boy!”
As for the Brewster character, Frye says she will always love Punky. “I still hold her very close to my heart."
