I have had some emotional issues and have recently been diagnosed with bipolar. I am wondering if I am not released to go back to work if I can use my short term disability through my plan at work. I know they pay 60% of your wages while you are out. Is this a qualifying condition and would I receive 60% of my wages before taxes?? In other words, I dont receive std on my take home pay but my gross income, is that right? and how long does it take to start receiving money? I ahve already been out for two weeks now but have been using my earned illness balance.
