Recently, I was in a car accident. This other girl rammed into the back of me going about 45 mph in a residential while I was stopped at a stop sign. My car was totaled and a previous back injury was severely aggravated. Now I'll be going to the chiropractor 3 times a week for 1-2 months to get it back into alignment. Should I get money for pain and suffering? I'm not going to try and scam a ridiculous amount of money out of the insurance company or anything, but this is seriously taking a lot of time out of my week, and making normal activities painful. I'd like to start working less hours as I'm trying to get better, but I can only afford to do this if I think I'm going to be able to make up for this with my settlement check. What would be a reasonable amount to receive for this sort of thing? I don't want to go overboard and hire an attorney or anything like that. But I do feel that I deserve something so that I can take it easy for a few months. I was thinking maybe around $2000. Does that seem reasonable?
