Open Question: Can I sue my homeowners for the amount still owed for replacement costs?

I had a house fire in October of 2009. The insurance has fixed the house and paid me some money for my contents but the depreciation was so much that I'm having a hard time actually replacing what I lost. Can I sue to collect the remainder of the money to or am I out of luck? I live in Virginia. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
